Flashback is a green-colored SilverHawk first introduced in the episode "Flashback". He is the second of the new officers to join the SilverHawks stationed in the Limbo Galaxy after Hotwing, and followed by Moon Stryker and Condor. His fighting hawk is Backlash.

History[]

Flashback is an experimental SilverHawk from the future. In his first appearance, he met with an aged Stargazer and was shown that the original SilverHawks had all perished while trying to stop Hardware's Combustion Crystal. He traveled back in time, prevented the demise of the other SilverHawks and destroyed the Crystal. Returning to his own time, he was met by Stargazer and Quicksilver (now alive).

Another time, Flashback accompanied Hotwing to investigate the Special Delivery Ship which was missing it's pilot and cargo. The cargo in question was the Total Mobility System Case, without which Stargazer would not survive. Flashback and Hotwing traveled to Asteroid Trash twice, first to talk to Larry then returning to retrieve the Case from Mo-Lec-U-Lar (who was disguised as Larry).

At another date, Flashback and his fighting hawk Backlash pursued Hardware, who was using a Galactic Time Warp to travel back in time in attempt to destroy the SilverHawks before they left Earth for Limbo Galaxy en route to their newly assigned post, HawkHaven. Flashback found himself having to thwart and number of Hardware's plots to destroy the Mirage, ultimately chasing the villain back through the Time Warp and destroying it.

Physical Description[]

Flashback sports an olive-green SilverHawk suit featuring an owl-like motif. The suit covers the entirety of his body save for his left arm and the lower half of his face. Uniquely, his feet feature two claw-like appendages jutting out from the sides of each foot, making them appear more like birds' feet. He also has unusually large, cat-like eyes that are lavender in color. Whether these are his real eyes or a part of his suit remains unknown.

Powers and Abilities[]

Flashback's suit is equipped with many of the same accoutrements as other SilverHawks, including shoulder jets, upper arm jets, heel jets, talons, and wings. His suit is also noted as having superior armor and a higher melting point (of at least 8 million degrees) as compared to other SilverHawks. [1] Additionally, he has a radio transmitter built into his chin which he uses to keep in contact with Stargazer.[2]

Hailing from the future, Flashback possesses the ability to travel back and forth through time, the "Time Warp Effect".[3] He is most frequently shown using this power to traverse short periods of time (a few minutes), but he is also able to travel much longer periods, as shown in his debut. It is not clear exactly when in the future the SilverHawks met their demise, however they were mentioned in the history books of Flashback's time,[4] so it is likely that many years had passed. During one confrontation with Timestopper, it was revealed that Flashback can reverse time before Timestopper can stop it.[5]

Trivia[]

  • At one time, Stargazer was going to obtain a new SilverHawk suit called the "Fastback" that closely resembled Flashback's suit.[6]
  • Unlike other Silverhawks, Flashback's full face was never revealed and he was never shown wearing casual attire.
  • Flashback's unusual eyes have led to speculation that he may be a human hybrid, or possibly, not human at all.
